Meet
Andrea
I am an Italian pizzaiolo from Livorno, Tuscany region. I have lived in Finland since 2017 and I have spent most of the time in Turku.
I've loved to see the reaction of people when getting my pizza and their face when they get to taste it. The best emotion for me is to see an happy customer, and this is what has made me continue this journey in the restaurant world.
-About
Our
pizza truck
Pizzeria da Andrea offers delicious, authentic Italian pizzas from a unique pizza oven. This mobile pizzeria serves mouth-watering pizzas baked in a wood-fired oven, perfect for anyone who loves to enjoy good food anywhere.
-Satisfaction
Quality food
for our customers
We try to give you best quality food and make you taste particular traditional Italian products. That´s why we try to change our menu often, so that you can try different pizza almost every.
-RESPONSIBILITY
Delicious & Sustainable
Pizza
Responsibility is an important value for our company and we want our operations to be as sustainable as possible ecologically, socially and financially.
- Vegetarian and vegan options
Meat and other animal products burden the environment more than vegetarian food. That's why we always want to offer several vegetarian pizza options, which can also be completely vegan if desired.
- Harvest season products
Seasonal vegetables taste particularly tasty and are also an environmentally sustainable option! That's why we use the products of the harvest season as much as possible, and we always use something from the plants of the harvest season as the main ingredient in our Vegetariana pizza, which changes every month.
- Minimazing food waste
Food waste unnecessarily burdens the environment, and that's why we want to minimize the amount of waste that occurs. We always try to make only as many products as we need, but estimating sales is sometimes challenging due to the large variation. That's why we use the Resq app, through which we can sell extra pizzas & drinks that are about to expire. This is how we can turn waste into a treat and also offer more affordable treat moments!
- Waste reduction & recycling
Especially in street food sales, disposable products generate a significant amount of waste, which is why we wanted to pay special attention to the amount of waste generated. In addition to pizza boxes, we also use cardboard pizza plates, which contain more than 50% less material than pizza boxes. We also only use disposable cutlery instead of disposable cutlery.
In addition, we recycle our waste and try to use recycled products in our operations whenever possible. For example, we have acquired used furniture and stoves from a recycling center for our warehouse.
- Emission compensation
One of our most important goals is to try to reduce all unnecessary consumption. We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint by using pizza boxes, whose lifetime CO2 emissions are compensated by planting trees in Finland. Check out more at the link below!
My Story
FROM DOUGH TO PLEASURE: MY JOURNEY WITH PIZZA
I have started to work in restaurants when I was just 17 years old. First as a pizza delivery guy and since then I´ve learned all the things about restaurants. Step by step I learned waitress, bar and kitchen tasks and finally also making pizzas. I’m thankful for all the people that I´ve met on my path. I want to thank you all, because I´ve learned something from all of you.
At some point, I decided to go to work in Lapland for the winter season and I ended up being in Levi for 2 winter seasons in 2019-2021. I also met my dear girlfriend Julia there. So yes, I've been really stuck since I met my lady from Kuopio and we've been together for 3 years now <3
After Lapland, we spent one summer in Kuopio and then we finally came to dear Turku, where my life in Finland began. Here I was the head chef for a while in one of Finland's most famous, if not the most famous, pizzeria.
Besides working, during the last few years, I´ve also studied the Finnish language, which has been a really cool and tough experience. I´m so grateful that I´ve met awesome people there, whom I can call my friends.
Here is my story in short and let's see how it continues. Let's keep in touch and hopefully see you soon!
